The Brief
An Ex Libris bookplate assignment exploring traditional printmaking imagery through digital illustration in Procreate. The composition centers on a celestial motif — a sun and crescent moon meeting in a kiss, each bearing a profile face with closed eyes and textured shading. Swirling cloud formations anchor the corners while five-pointed stars scatter across the frame, and a hand-drawn 'EX·Libres' title sits at the top. The strict black-and-white palette and cross-hatched linework nod to the long history of bookplate printmaking, where intricate line work must read clearly even at a small scale pressed inside the cover of a book.
